The Clewiston Mill of US Sugar is the largest cane sugar factory in the US and one of the largest in the world. When the company required more steam generating capacity it selected a new 500 000 lb/hr [227 ton/hr] Thermal Energy Systems boiler. The company ordered the engineering, including full detailing, from us on the basis that the key combustion equipment would use TES technology. That left it free to procure the rest of the equipment from its preferred suppliers and to contract for the erection with an experienced erector. USSC chose McBurney of Norcross, Georgia to manage the procurement function and to erect and commission the unit. |
